over the years, i have found that the way that i learn best is workshops and learning from other people. i have spent many hours at workshops, about photography, about business, about accounts, etc, instead of spending my years in a university studying. some people are shocked when i tell them that i never studied photography and rather am self taught. the amount that i have learnt in the field, at weddings, and from colleagues and workshops has taught me more than any classroom ever would. for me, this works. without these workshops and mentors and amazing clients, i would never have built my business to what it is today, and for that, i will always be grateful.
it’s been a goal of mine to eventually hold my very own workshops, to help others find their stepping stone to taking their photography to the next level. so far, the mommy & me workshops are running beautifully, and i have loved every minute of teaching. so this has given me the confidence to finally tackle the one i’ve been waiting for, teaching others about what i love most- wedding photography.
this workshop is going to be intimate, and honest. i want to share everything that i have learnt with you- the mistakes and the trade secrets! my way of shooting is very natural & documentary, and i love to tell the story of a wedding, rather than having a tick list of what has to be shot. to me, it’s more important to capture memories that make a person feel something…
over two days, i will cover everything from telling the story of the day, to branding, marketing, social media, pricing, making bookings, contracts, post production & delivery of images and albums. including a very special guest speaker, nicki from NB accounting, who will cover everything you need to know about keeping your business accounts in tact, and staying on the right side of the tax man.
i want this workshop to excite you, and give you the confidence to tackle your business head on, and take it to new heights. you will have time to chat amongst your peers and figure out the parts of your brand that you need to work on, and hear where others also have fears, as well as their strengths.
after all the talking is done, there will be an opportunity to practice your skills in a beautiful styled shoot, so you have some gorgeous shots to add to your portfolio.
this workshop is aimed at photographers that own a DSLR and are wanting to take the wedding & portrait photography to the next level. a basic knowledge of the camera is a necessity, as i will be covering how to shoot a wedding and building your business, rather than how the camera works.
