FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ENGAGEMENT SHOOT INFORMATION
1. How do we choose a location?
It’s important to find a location that suits you as a couple, depending on what you enjoy doing together, and where you spend a lot of time together. Whether it be at the beach, having picnics in the park, or at home with your pets by the pool! Try to think outside the box ☺
2. What props should be bring along, if any?
It’s important to think of things that important to you as a couple. You are welcome to bring along balloons, ice creams, champers, any of that sort of thing, but it’s also really divine to incorporate quirky little items from your home that may be really special to you or mean something to you. Depending on location, you should perhaps bring along a picnic blanket to sit on. Flowers always brighten the mood too, and pets add character to any shoot! That being said, some people don’t like the props, and we can work just as much magic with just you two humans!
Don’t forget that we also offer a styled shoot, where everything (flowers & props) are done for you, and you’re made up with hair & make up to look like the best version of yourself.
3. What should we wear?
I try to avoid the ‘denim and white’ look. It’s a little dated, and let’s face it- not everyone looks good in white! I tell clients to wear a colour that really suits them, and items that they feel good in. But it’s important not to clash… So if you’re going to wear your best pink frock, I suggest your boyfriend/ fiancé wears something that looks good next to pink!
If you look good in anything, then I’ll give you a heads up that pastels look great on the beach, and brights look great in the greenery of a park…
Also, you don’t have to stick to just one outfit, and you’re more than welcome to have a change of clothes with you for a bit of a different look for some shots. I wouldn’t suggest more than 2 outfits each, as it takes up valuable time changing and unchanging.
4. What time of day is best for the shoot, and how long is it?
Engagement & Couple Shoots are 1 hour. This is the perfect amount of time to capture all the mushy stuff, and by the end of it, you would’ve kissed enough times to cover the rest of the week! The shoot will either be early in the morning, or late in the afternoon. Times will depend on the season.
5. What happens if it rains?
We postpone to the next available date for both parties. Plain and simple. We’ll make a call the day before or the day of the shoot, depending on the weather man, and the heavens!
